Substance Abuse (Opioid Dependence)
Opiate medications are known to eliminate all kinds of pain but also have a very high potential of being abused. Addiction to substances such as Opium drugs can be life ruining and extremely terrifying. Opium drugs consist of morphine's, codeines, heroin and oxycodones. Drug users of opiate medications can have problems that are cognitive, behavioral, or psychological. Opioid dependence is the compulsion to continually take the drug. Many substance abusers wish to quit using opium drugs but simply cannot stand the withdrawal or cravings. Dr. Nunn uses the Subxone Program to wean substance abusers off opium.
Suboxone Program
Suboxone is a narcotic prescription used to treat and tackle a patient's opiate dependency. Suboxone medication is placed under the tongue to enter the bloodstream. Suboxone minimizes withdrawal symptoms for the body to detox. Dr. Nunn's Suboxone Program is offered for 30, 60, or 90 days, or longer if necessary.
Aside from the Suboxone medication Dr. Nunn regularly meets with his patients for counseling. Counseling helps along with the Suboxone. Like any medication Suboxone comes with minor side effects such as nausea, vomiting and headaches depending on the patient.
The greatest benefit to Dr. Nunn's Suboxone program is that even though the patient is being closely monitored, it is still an outpatient program. Dr. Nunn wants to help patients feel more comfortable in their recovery. This can truly become a life-changing program.
